2021 NM Commercial Energy Code – Lighting Systems and Controls

Lighting systems and their controls play a large role in the energy efficiency of a building.  This class will look at Section C405 of the NM IECC to understand the role of electrical power and lighting in building efficiency.  We will also look at the U-Factor Alternative path of compliance through the energy code and determine if any of the lighting requirements will change using that path vs the Component Performance Alternative path, with the common compliance verification tool - COMcheck.

What exactly is a heat pump and how can it be energy efficient?  Discover how heat pumps works, some of the code requirements, and resources available to support the design of a system utilizing heat pumps.  We’ll use pictures, videos, code books and plans to understand the concepts of heat pumps and how to apply them in practice.
